Soft Focus LGBTQ+ Film Club - Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma

Queer Cumbria presents this new monthly film night showcasing international LGBTQ+ cinema for a Cumbrian audience, kicking off on October 30th with Jane Schoenbrun’s satirical surrealist psychological slasher Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma (15). ‘After years of slapdash sequels, the “Camp Miasma” franchise gets handed over to an enthusiastic young director for resurrection. But when she visits the reclusive actress from the original film, the two women fall into a blood-soaked world of desire, fear and delirium. We want Soft Focus to be open and welcoming to everyone, regardless of income. To make that happen, we’re using a sliding scale ticket model. Please read the bands below and pick the option that feels honest and doable for you: Thriving (£10): For those with secure income who want to help cover costs for others and support our community. Striving (£7.50): For those who are more financially stable and have regular disposable income. Surviving (£5): For students, unwaged, or anyone currently facing financial hardship. Soft Focus is supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of the BFI Film Audience Network.
