COACHER BRING THEIR NEW LIVE SHOW TO PENRITH AND CARLISLE Cumbria alternative pop/rock band Coacher are heading into a busy end to 2026, with a free-entry show at Fell, Penrith on Friday 2 October before a headline night at The Brickyard, Carlisle on Friday 18 December. Frontwoman Fiona Clayton returns to music after an 11-year break, having previously released original material and received support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Cumbria and Radio 1, with appearances including BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Kendal Calling and Liverpool Sound City. Coacher brings together four musicians with plenty of previous live experience: Fiona Clayton — lead vocals, guitar and piano Jan Cardy — bass Steve Orchiton — drums Josh Jackson — keys, synths, percussion and harmonies The band have spent much of 2026 developing a live set that mixes alternative rock, melodic pop and atmospheric synths. Expect a big, atmospheric live sound with a fully synchronised light show running through the set. Their appearance at Fell in Penrith on 2 October gives local audiences an early chance to catch Coacher live, with free entry on the night, before the band head to The Brickyard in Carlisle on 18 December for their end-of-year headline show. “We’ve spent a long time getting this to where we wanted it before putting it properly in front of people. It’s not just about turning up and playing the songs — we wanted the whole thing to feel like a show. “Fell will be a great one for us because it’s local, intimate and right in front of people, then The Brickyard in December is the night we’ve really been building towards.” With new music and further live dates planned for 2027, Coacher are looking ahead to a much bigger year of live shows.
