Our 75 minute exclusive heritage boat trip gives you and up to 11 others the opportunity to create meaningful memories on the lake. Relax in our one-of-a-kind steamboat or restored 1930’s wooden motor launch from our collection and admire the stunning Cumbrian views. Our boat crew will be on hand to answer any questions, share the untold stories about our boat collection and bring the history of Windermere to life. Must be booked at least 5 days in advance via email or telephone. Refreshments can be included upon request. Available for groups of up to 12 people. This is subject to weather and staff availability. Not accessible to wheelchair users. This experience is perfect for special occasions, weddings, anniversaries and family get togethers. A cast of curious critters have found their way into Windermere Jetty Museum! Join our Squirrel and friends as you follow a family-friendly trail around the museum. Search for creatures hiding among the boats, explore stories from Windermere’s past and discover more about the collection as you go. Perfect for families visiting Summer of Senses, this playful trail invites children to look closely, spot hidden animals and continue the sensory adventure beyond the exhibition. How many animals will you find? Trail is included with museum admission and available to pick up from the ticket desk. Lakeland Arts Members and Windermere Jetty Museum Annual Pass holders go free.

Who’s rustling in the reeds, splashing by the shore or hiding beneath the surface of Windermere? Sail into the Boathouse for Jetty Tails, playful family storytelling sessions filled with tales of the curious creatures that live in and around England’s largest natural lake. Surrounded by historic boats, little ones and their grown-ups can settle in, listen closely and let their imaginations drift across the water as stories bring Windermere’s wildlife, characters and hidden lake life to life. Perfect for families visiting Summer of Senses, Jetty Tails is a fun way to meet some of the creatures that inspire the exhibition and continue exploring the world through sight, sound, touch and imagination. This drop-in activity runs on Tuesdays at 10.30am and 2pm between 18 July – 30 August 2026. Included with museum admission.
